About CTM

(1) Multiple cross-field training

 

The CTM Department emphasizes the innovation and learning across different fields. In addition to the integration of curriculums in the fields of information system, technology and innovation management, the facilities including IThardware and software and cultural creativity, such as 3D printers, high-speed cameras, and sport cameras. The CTM Department also encourages students to participate in scientific technology volunteer and service learning community.Helps students to obtain the training across in different fields and enable students to achieve the potential of future marketing storytellers, co-projec t managers, the designers of user experience, and the solution of patents architects andengineers.

 

(2) Explicit career direction

 

In addition, the Department is focusing in two training positions including scientific technology-based marketing and communication technology market, followed by the learning from curriculums and instructors. And expect students stabilize in one training field in order to extent students learning to different field.

 

(3) Stabilize core values

 

Iin the very beginning, the CTM Department established and still convinced the core values of ENii, on behalf of the Executive capability (E), Negotiation capability (N), innovation (i), and integrating (i). Many courses emphasize the Executive, Negotiation and Innovation, and bring up students the (Integration) capabilities in all tram works and contests.

 

History

  1.  CTM’s three four-year

    The predecessor of this department is commercial automatic centre. In 2003, this department named “Commerce Automation & Management”, take teaching of e-business as the core, a circulation cooperating with the university every four years, at different stages, inspect the developing direction of the department again , adjust the localization of the department and development tactics in case of necessity.  Currently the department has 578 students, 12 teachers in day and night schools. Since creating the department, the colleagues of this department all stand fast at the teaching post, educate talents , join hands in order to attend actively.

    2003-2006 The e-business stage, servicing the inner customers

    The first four-year from 2003-2006, we called that e-business stage.  At that time, the courses are mainly designed by the suggestion of Ministry of Economic Affairs Commercial Department such as supply the chain (Supply Chain Management, SCM), the resource plan in enterprises (Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP), customer's relation managing (Customer Relation Management, CRM),, and commercial intelligence (Business Intelligence, BI),   Starting from 2004, the CAM Department cooperated some relevant courses from other departments to establish a campus-wide E-business study.  Later, it renamed as the E-Business courses.

    2007-2010 Service Technicalization stages, servicing the outer customers; Rename as the Department of Commercial Technology and Management

    Until 2006, department makes a self-criticism industry trend again, for because of emphasize scientific and technical innovation and trend that serve more and more in conformity with industry, the word of information has been already difficult to totally contain the application of different new developing and life science and technology in the modern society.   From 2007, department gradually put emphasis on focal points that science and technology serve focal points of information service then. Meanwhile, in order to enable this department name to accord with the developing direction of this department and teaching goal even more, from 2009, rename as the Department of Commercial Technology and Management.  For this reason, besides the department had e-business modules, it also set up another course module at the same time,   It was in ' improve the service (outside is served ) with science and technology ' that made a reservation, and is named as Hi-Tech application module. Later, we separate Hi-Tech application module into two categories, one is smart technology and the other one is service innovation management.

    2011-2014 Service technology value adding, adding value to inner and outer customers
    This department will make a self-criticism to the developing direction once again in 2010. The Ministry of Economic Affairs predicts Taiwan will make the transition towards the living type attitude pioneer in the future, and then become international fund, first-selection which the talent, technology moved. So, we have joined course of the ownership of property intelligently and trained too , ready by helping the students. For the developing of next- four year, this department planned a new course modules: cross domain innovation and business start-up. We hope this course module can introduce some new tools and concepts, helping students to pursue and cultivate innovation, and at the same time establish fundamental knowledge and capability to start a business.

  1. Prioritize characteristics

    1core competency and course modules based on core values

    As stated in previous paragraphs, we have shifted our focus from the already mature e-business to smart and modern technology oriented course modules. In the next years, the focus will be placed on service innovation management. At the same time, as seen in many research projects sponsored by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, service innovation, which covers innovation management, life style marketing and patenting , is now generally agreed to be a likely future trend.

    Our focus, in addition to adapting to current and future trends, also emphasize our core values ENii (Executive, Negotiation, innovation, integration), which was established in 2007. ENii, when together with different course modules, will generate different characteristics for these modules. These characteristics also incorporates the 5L principles from our school. The 5L principle includes learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together, learning to be, and learning to change

    Because the current focus is on smart technology, which emphasize cross domain technology application and implementation. We also starts the preparation for the shift towards innovation management, emphasizing using service innovation and technology to solve problems in life.

    2course modules evolves with time

    For the next four year, we have prepare a new course module: cross domain innovation and business start-up, hoping students would engage more cross domain leaning and cooperation.

    As stated in the BOEA’s New Hires News published on 2011/3/29, people with cross domain knowledge and expertise are much more likely to be hired than the one with only a single field of expertise.

    Such so-called cross domain expertise, according the BOEA’s Yearly Industry Professionals Development and Research Report of 2010, is a person with knowledge and capabilities from at least two fields, capable of breaking the boundary and engage multiple-disciplinary synergy.

    In this course module, students will have to participate at one of the approved in-school or out-school innovation or business start-up competition to get the course module certificate. In this course module, market and patent, which we consider a likely future trend, are also incorporated.

    We hope this course module can introduce some new tools and concepts, helping students to pursue and cultivate innovation, and at the same time establish fundamental knowledge and capability to start a business.

institute, and will establish an information center.
Long range: Change the society and creating and action direction , will establish the key research 
center , emphasize the teacher and students publications and inventing , creating the 
new topic for service learning.

Major events of the last decade

2003, the department was established the Department of Commerce Automation and Management, day division students enrollment only.

2004, Accepted night school students

2007, Department evaluation was A by the Ministry of Education.

2009, Renamed to the Department of Commerce Technology and Management, increased one class in day division.

2011, Department evaluation was A by the Ministry of Education.

2012, Application for cross-field program was approved by the Ministry of Education two consecutive years.

2013,Passed the self-evaluation in the school.

2014, Submitted the proposal to coordinate the school renaming to University.

The Department is located in Library Building on the 3rd floor. Office is on the right hand side after exitingfrom the elevator.
